Helping your child at home
To support you in helping your child at home, we recommend the use of the following websites, resources and apps. Some of these websites require logins (which can usually be found in your child's reading record). Please contact the class teacher if you are struggling to access a resource.
Maths
Numbots- A free app/website that children can use to help develop their core number skills and fluency. We recommend using 'Story Mode'.
Times Table Rock Stars (TTRS)- A free app/website that children can use to support learning their times tables. We recommend using 'Garage' and 'Jamming'.
One-Minute White Rose Maths- This is a great free app for working on core maths skills and works as a good alternative to Numbots.
English
Spelling Shed- Children in KS2 have a login for Spelling Shed. This will have their weekly spellings. 'Mastery Zone' is useful for a personalised learning journey.
Spelling Challenge and Rainbow words- These are the essential spellings that children should know by the end of year 6.
Letterjoin- To support children's handwriting, children can access Letterjoin.
AnimaPhonics- All the AnimaPhonics songs can be found here. These are handy for children learning their phonics.
Reading- Children in all year groups should be reading daily. Our phonic books have questions/ recaps in the front and back covers. Linked here are Reading VIPERS questions to support children's comprehension.
