  • Anti-Bullying Week!

    Mon 16 Nov 2009
This week at EFJS is Anti-bullying week, when we will be reminding ourselves of the things to do if we, or someone we know, are being bullied.  If you are worried about bullying at all, each class will have a 'question box' where you can ask your teacher a question, or give an opinion, in a discrete way.

The theme for this year's focus week is

    CYBER BULLYING

This is where bullying takes place via email, messenger sites and text message.

    COMPETITIONS

The school council have set up the following competitions:
    * Poem - write a poem telling people about the dangers of cyber-bullying
    * Poster - design a poster, again, informing your peers about cyber bullying.
Entries should be given to Josh or Liam in Year 6 by Thursday.

    NON-UNIFORM DAY

We will be holding a 'purple' non-uniform day on Friday.  A letter has gone home this evening explaining this event.

Any questions about anti-bullying week and the events and lessons we are holding, then please see your class teacher!

  • Fantastic Football Match Results!

    Thu 05 Nov 2009
On Tuesday the 3rd November Edward Francis played a football match against Plumberow Primary School .It had kicked off and after 5 minutes we were dominating.
Then seconds later from a great corner that had been cleared out, Charlie scored a
goal from 12 yards. It was 1-0 Edward Francis. Half time went and we were winning!!

The second half began but the lead didn’t last long as Plumberow Primary School scored and it went in the back of the net! We were unlucky!!!! After that Tom ran down the line and attempted a cross, and lucky for us, one of their defenders kicked it in the back of the net wooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two minutes later Charlie scored from about 20 yards into the bottom corner of the goal. Jack then took the ball on the volley and smashed it into the back of the net. Then Connor shot from 15 yards to make another goal in the top right hand corner.
We ended up winning 7 – 1 with three more goals having been scored by Jack, Tom and Connor.

On Wednesday 4th November they played Northlands Primary School, Pitsea as part of the FA Jim Smith Cup league and won 7 - 0

On Thursday 5th November the boys played Downhall Primary School and won 4 - 1. This means they have won their group and will now proceed to the next round of the FA Jim Smith Cup League and will be playing Stanford-le-Hope School at home on Tuesday 24th November. The kick-off will be at 3.30 and all are welcome to watch and support.

Well done boys for your hard work and enthusiam.
