• Year 6 First Aid Training

  As part of our year 6 Pupils' preparation for life outside of Edward Francis, they took part in some first aid training, led by Mr and Mrs Colby (Emergency Response Training UK Ltd).
  
  During the sessions, the children were taught about DR ABC - the checks they should go through when they see that someone is in need of first aid:
  
  Danger
  Response
  Airway
  Breathing
  Circulation (compressions)
  
  They then had the opportunity to put this into practice using the Annie dolls, showing us how they would check DR ABC, then administer CPR.
  
  Finally they were shown how to put a patient into the recovery position and what to do if someone is choking.
  
  Year 6 would like to thank Mr and Mrs Colby for an excellent session, and for helping us learn valuable skills for life!

• Edward Francis Juniors come 2nd at District Sports

  Well done to all the children who went to the District Sports event on Thursday morning.
  
  They all threw, jumped and ran brilliantly, and because of their superb efforts we were placed 2nd out of the group of schools we competed against.
  
  In an assembly today (Tuesday 6th July) our triumphant District Sports Team proudly showed off their medals and the 2nd place trophy they had been awarded.
