Please find below a Powerpoint presentation showing this year's winners of our Painted Egg Competition on the theme of 'history'. Thanks to all children (and any adults who assisted them) - entries were of a very high standard and picking winners was very difficult!
We started offering hot dinners to our lower school children this week. On Monday, when the pictures below were taken, pizza was served. Children have had to learn lots of new skills such as carrying trays full of food and scraping off their plates off when they have finished. We hope to offer meals to our upper school children in the new year (with a Christmas dinner available to all children before then).
Menus for the coming weeks can be found on the 'Letters' part of the school website
The coach carrying the children is currently at the Dartford Crossing. The current estimated time of arrival is just after 6.30pm. Please look here for the latest updates of when the coach is likely to return - do not contact the school for this information.
When the coach arrives, we ask that those collecting children wait in the school car park to ease congestion around the coach. Children will be brought into the car park with baggage collected shortly after.
See the link below for pictures and details of the children's stay.
Last six hours of primary school
Goodbye is getting near
The sums and sentences all done
The full stop day is here
Last five hours of primary school
Where everything's before
The aims and games and crazes
no one’s crazy for anymore
Last four hours of primary school
Surrounded by a class
Who'll scatter soon and not return
when summer’s days have passed
Last three hours of primary school
One final lunchtime play
Instead of chasing friends we try
to chase and catch the day
Last two hours of primary school
The clock hands blur and skid
Signing shirts, remembering
the coolest things we did
Last one hour of primary school
With a teacher who understood
And helped me see I could achieve
‘cos she believed I could
Last ever second of primary school
The full stop rings in our ears
But a thousand chapters left to write
We must vacate our childhood site
For time moves on and time is right -
To leave our wonder years
Thanks to all children (and any adults who assisted them) who entered the 2014 Painted Egg Competition on the theme of 'Films' - entries were of a very high standard and picking winners was very difficult! The Powerpoint below shows the winning entries.
A feedback form for the Parents in Literacy week has been sent home with every child whose parent came in during the course of the week. Your feedback helps up to understand how you felt about your experience of the day and what additional support you might feel, as a parent, you would like.
Please could they be returned as soon as possible, either through the office or your child's class teacher?
Thank you for the already completed and returned forms.
Mrs Humphreys
Thank you to all those who have ordered a copy of our Christmas CD - Christmas Wishes! The CDs should be in your child's bag tonight! It is not too late to put in your order - CDs cost £7.99.
Congratulations to Matthew in Year 5 for winning the competition to design the CD Cover! This fabulous design, alongside the talented singing of all our pupils makes for an amazing CD full of wonderful Christmas tunes!
If you have any questions or would like to order a CD, please see the office as soon as possible!
As you may remember, on Wednesday 6th November, some of our very talented Year 5 and 6 pupils worked with Nathan and Sarah from the Songwriting Charity to produce their own anti-bullying anthem.
On Thursday 21st November, we were fortunate to welcome John Quinn from the charity to premiere the music video that was made on the day to accompany the song - have a look at the Year 6 blog to see the You Tube video - it's amazing and spreads such an important message about Anti-Bullying!
There is no specific form required for paying your £100 deposit for the trip.
Please place your payment in a sealed envelope, marked with your child's name, class and 'Osmington Bay 2014 Deposit'.
All cheques should be made payable to Edward Francis Primary School.
When your deposit has been processed, you will receive a payment card which enables you and the school to keep track of your payments.
If you have any more questions, do not hesitate to contact Mrs Dunt, Mr Soars or Mrs Vinnicombe
